History
Namco released Galaga in 1981 as the successor to Galaxian. Its capture beam, dual-fighter mechanic, challenge stages, and patterned diving attacks became arcade landmarks.
Controls
Press C to insert a coin, 1 or 2 to start, Left/Right to move, Space to fire, and F for fullscreen. A Switch Joy-Con can be held horizontally: use its stick to move and its right-hand button to fire.
Original configuration
The port uses the Namco revision B defaults: upright cabinet, one coin per credit, three lives, and the original difficulty and bonus-life settings.
About this port
The three original Z80 programs and the Namco 51xx and 54xx MCU programs are translated into address-specialized WebAssembly. Browser code replaces only the arcade board’s input, video, and audio boundaries.
Each load or reset starts with 99 credits. One-player start spends one credit; two-player start spends two. Press C to insert a coin. The original boot sequence runs visibly at maximum speed, then normal timing resumes.
