Asteroids

Atari’s original 1979 arcade game. Rotate your ship, thrust through the asteroid field and fire to break the rocks apart. Destroy saucers before they hit you. Hyperspace offers an escape, with the original risk of losing your ship.

Controls

Each browser load or reset starts with 99 credits. Starting a one-player game spends one credit; two players spend two. C still inserts a coin.

Left / Right: rotate. Up: thrust. Space: fire. Command, Option, or Control (either side): hyperspace. 1: one player. 2: two players. P: pause. F: fullscreen.

For high-score initials, use Left / Right to select a letter and Command, Option, or Control to advance.

About this version

This is a playable development build of the Atari revision 4 program translated to WebAssembly. Sound and CRT presentation use documented analog approximations. Verification work continues.
